Praise In Numbers

I've come to realize that I'm addicted to blog surfing.

I'll have gone from blog to blog to blog in look up and notice that a 1/2 hour has passed, my son is watching something on TV that he knows he can't watch, my girls are chatting away in their beds at each other when they should have eaten lunch (that I should have prepared a 1/2 hour ago) and the rinse cycle on my washer has passed without me putting the softener in.

I said all that to say this: When I was surfing, some blogs I read are very funny and upbeat. However, there are many there that are about loss of loved ones, loss of babies, sickness, etc. I try not to get bogged down from reading the. I find it actually strengthening my prayer life to interceed for those I don't even know. To pray for those going through sickness and dispair that I have never experienced. Through all of this though, I found out how many people actually follow someone that I, too follow. Her name is Kelly. She's Harper's Momma. She's a PK. She loves Jesus with all of her heart and half her kidney (thanks, Dad). She is a blog surfer like me and, like me has really become bogged down with so many things being blogged about that are "hard and sad things I've read lately." So....she decided to praise Him. It's crazy, plum crazy how many people are praising Him today from just reading her blog.

It kinda got me aggravated at myself. I should not have to read someone else's blog to be motivated to praise Jesus.

All I have to do is step two feet in any direction of this messy house of mine to have something to praise Him about. And I mean messy... Toys, thank you Jesus for toys.

All I have to do is scroll down my phone's address book to have 100 different people to praise Him about. I have the best friend a girl could ask for. Thank you Jesus for kindred spirits.

All I have to do is look at my three children to see healthy, well rounded, beautiful kids to praise Him about. As I'm typing this, my 4 year old came to give me a kiss.....

All I have to do is think of my ONE @ ONLY wonderful, handsome, hard working (EMPLOYED) husband to praise Him. That man took his lunch break this morning to meet me at Wal-Mart & help get groceries!!

All I have to do is pick up the phone and know that four grandparents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and a slew of in-laws are at our reach, if need be....that alone is enough to praise Him... Thank you, Jesus for Paul, Kelly, Kay, Jimmy, Josh, Ann, Caleb, Tracy, Liz, Jeremy...I think I call them for help more than I should but I know they wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, I guess I should get back to the house. Gotta go change the channel, restart the rinse & feed my babies. Thank you Jesus for a TV, washing machine and food in the pantry.

Finally am posting some shots from our trip. Not in any order. Had a great time. Good to be home. Back in the swing of things. Wiping noses, fussing a lot, stepping over toys, loving every minute...

I worked at the office for a few hours yesterday while Mrs. Kay watched the kids for me. Pheeewww....I'm out of practice! Kind of felt like a fish out of water sitting down at my old desk. I'll be back at it on Thursday. Gotta get some updates done on our website. Came home to the house in dissaray from storming out of the house to be at work on time, threw a frozen pizza in the oven, rushed to put the kids to bed and sat and stared around the house to wonder how I did it all when I was working 5 days a week!!! Can anyone answer that for me?

• Health and safety for my 4 BEAUTIFUL preggies that I know: Tiffany, Ann, Courtney & Samantha; (Tiffie (as our kids call her) is carrying Clayton Jacob, due in April; Annie is carrying Ms. Mary Elizabeth, due in May; Court & Sam are due together in the late summer. We want full term, healthy big babies, in Jesus' name!)

• Anna Olinde's continued healing from Lukemia; (our family went to church with Anna's mom @ Harvest Church years ago. God is already baffling the Drs. at St. Jude because acording to new tests on "DAY 15 has finally arrived and the preliminary results are in NO MORE LEUKEMIA CELLS IN THE BONE MARROW!!!! Praise the Lord!")

• The Poche Family for strength and healing for their daughter Lydia; (I had the pleasure to work with Uncle Troy years ago on Lydia's precious Mom, Mandy's wedding. Just a few weeks ago I learned about Mandy's journal and have been touched by her drive and determination in believing for complete healing for her beautiful daughter! Help me believe with her!!)

Been A While...

Wow, where has the time gone? Seems just yesterday I was bragging on our Son and chatting about our Girls and actually we've gone through the entire summer, two hurricanes and are now entering the Fall and a new chapter in our lives.

Well, this summer has been great! HOT, but great! We made it through with minimal sickness and a great adjustment to new day cares and back to work.

During hurricane Gustav, we lost power for seven days and were blessed enough to stay in Grosse Tete at Mr. Jimmy & Mrs. Kay's house. They had an enormous generator that allowed a/c to run all day and night which was a help because Gustav came on the heals of Izzy having a small respiratory infection needing breathing treatments.

Fall is here!! Can it get any prettier these last few days?!?! I am so excited about this time of year!! I can already start to smell the cold weather coming - well, as cold as it can get in South La.

After many weeks of prayers and decision making, Chris & I have decided that it would be better for our family if I were to stay home with the kids instead of having them in daycare. I had my full support from my Mom and Dad at work and my Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law in the babysitting department. I think I am going to take Mrs. Kay up on her offer to keep the kids on Tuesdays & Thursdays so that I can work part time when needed. My last full day at the office as well as the kids last day at daycare will be October 24th.

I am excited about being able to have fun days with the kids and do things with other Moms that are fortunate enough to be able to stay home. Who knows, we may pop in to visit with the lots of you who read this post:-)

Well, the kids are getting so big!! Alexander slipped up and let me catch him reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance." Once I knew that he knew it, he got shy and wouldn't say it until I bribed him with a green popcycle - ha ha ha!! Isabella and Sophia are getting bigger by the day! Chris & I swear they grow over night and look bigger every morning! They are totally infatuated with their Daddy and don't hesitate to call out to him any and everytime they see him!! Of course, this has him like putty in their hands - oh, he better look out in 15 or so years!!

Yesterday...

Well, I know that he'll never toot his own horn, so I have to brag on my husband...
Yesterday was my birthday & he made it very special for me. He didn't have a lot of free time during the day, but he came across the river to meet me for lunch. We went with Mom, Dad, Bailey & Melanie. It meant a lot to be able to get out of the office for a while because yesterday was also my first payroll & I was stressing! Payroll went well & I ended the work day like a champ - thank goodness!!
So, Chris had told me we were going to dinner at seven but didn't tell me where. So when we pulled up to Mike Anderson's, my Parents, Mrs. Kay, Liz, Jeremy, Josh & Ann & the kids were all there to surprise me for my birthday!! I was surprised to say the least! We had dinner & Liz baked me a red velvet cake for dessert - my favorite!
Thank you, Lord for such a caring family & devoted husband!
