Welcome

I am proud of my family. I love Jesus. I am not perfect. I like junk food, particularly potato chips. I work out with my sexy rock star husband. I hate it. I do it for the company. My children make my heart beat. I was once a full time photographer. I retired to loose my sanity by becoming a stay-at-home Mom. I recently came out of retirement to avoid the looney-bin. Please enjoy the funny stories of my family, the hilarity of me trying to work out & find my skinny and the every-now-and-then crafts that I begin but rarely finish.

Izzy's Newest Accident

Izzy.

Poor, poor Izzy.

If it's gonna happen,

It's gonna happen to Izzy.

Mosquito bites,

Ant Bites,

Falls,

Bumps,

Bruises,

You name it.

It's for Izzy.

Last Sunday, she fell down.

We don't know what she hit.

She doesn't know what she hit.

All I know is that

I left her for two minutes

And the next time I saw her,

she had a golf ball-sized knot

on her already large forehead.

(these are from Chris' phone on the way to the ER)
Seriously?

I was shocked.

All I could do was breathe,

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus....

I had no words, not one.

Chris said lets go & I walked her

directly to the car.

I called out to my brothers &

In-Laws to take care of the other two.

We drove from the driveway

with Alexander crying for his sister

praying for her to be okay.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus was all I could say.

I swear, I couldn't get any other words out.

In the midst of searching

for other words,

an unspeakable peace came over us.

Inexplicable.

That child began giggling,

talking,

singing.

Seriously?
We drove to the ER in peace.

We felt silly, actually.

Taking this giggly girl

inside the sick, solemn ER.

It could have been so much worse.

So much worse.

Just for peace of mind,

we had her checked.

We were in & out in 1 hour.

We left with instructions

on what signs to look for

in case she got worse.
Nothing prepared us

for the shiner we woke up to

the next morning.

Comical.

Poor baby looked like she came out

of a bar fight
(excuse the food on her face, she's only still during meal times.)
And it got worse that Tuesday.

The bridge of her nose was swolen so much

that I brought her into the Pediatrician.

She told me that the black eyes were

going to become worse before they got better.
Seriously?

Yep.

They sure did.
One week later, both black eyes are

almost gone.

If it's gonna happen,

It's gonna happen

to Izzy.

Another First

We got the girls' 1st haircuts this week.

I was so excited.

Took weeks to make the appointment.

Set up a place for Bubb to go.

Was definitely a girl thing.

{Except for Daddy.}

I think I built it up in my mind, as usual.

Kim, my hairstylist, was the one I've always wanted to cut the girls' hair for the 1st time.

She's great & can read my mind whenever I'm trying to explain a certain style. No matter how bad the description, the end always looks like I envisioned it.

Anyhoo, I told her that we wanted to keep curls but I was envisioning a "stacked thing" in the back.

She says: Huh?

Yes, I said, stacked.

Her reply: Girrrrrl, we are NOT cutting off these curls for a stacked look in the back.
Pulease.

tsk, tsk...Bad Mom, Lindsey, Bad Mom...

So what does Kim do? What she does best, of course:

She met us at the door with a GINORMOUS bag of suckers.

GENIUS, simply genius.

Then she gave them the cutest trim.

She layered it to keep the curls.

Izzy's cut hair kept getting stuck to the sucker.

She even broke out the curling iron!

Izzy gasped, "like you, MOM!!"

Sophie said, "I da big gurl!"

Kim, you are the best!!

Thanks so much for making a great memory for another of our "Firsts" for our girls!!

Craft Day at our House

I have been itching do to something crafty this summer for the kids. Thursday totally lent itself to be the perfect day when I got to keep Ann & Josh's 3 youngest so that the oldest could go to a Dentist visit. To pass the time until they got back the kids at the house played a little dress up....

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a blogger named Meg Duerksen. Her family is beautiful and she does the best weekly crafts with them. She also linked up with Deep Space Sparkle Art and I CANNOT get enough craft ideas for the rest of TEN YEARS!! Genius! They're both Geniuses!!

I got our Butterfly Idea from the link here.
